VIDEOS I’m in

Here are some videos you can catch me in - all in the fun spirit of sharing music!

Check out this high-octane Adam Pope song live at Richard’s Cafe (Whites Creek TN). After about 2:00minutes of grueling but fun slapping I’m ready to die… and then comes the ending, blues first and then the real ending - LOL! Enjoy!

Adam Pope Band \”Shot In Reno\”  One of Adam’s classics from the point of view of the guy who got shot in that famous Johnny Cash song “Folsom Prison”

Adam Pope Band \”Your Mom\”   Adam’s goofy song about dating your best friend’s mom

i-love-me-too-part-2  Adam’s song about a gal who’s had enough of her husband’s demands

if-you-need-to-get-away-at-the-garage A fun song from Adam with a different look at a vacation get-away

Here are two more examples of the diversity of Adam Pope’s writing in “Engineer” and “They Don’t Make ‘em Like That No More” plus the amazing steel guitar work of Leroy Deuster (Wisconsin Steel Guitar Convention - March 2009 - videography by Donna Deuster):

WOW what a treat - I get to join powerful songwriters Linda McRae and Louisa Branscomb in a jam and we became a neat trio switching instruments as the songs change mood and the spirit moves us!  That’s one of the magnificent things about a trio are the different dynamics you can get from just three people sharing music!

Live performance (L to R) me slapping the ol’ upright bass, Linda McRae on the elec-tri-fied gi’tar and singing, Louisa Branscomb on banjo doing Linda’s song about Loretta Lynn’s Little Red Shoes.

“One Teardrop in the Bottom of the Glass” one of Linda’s songs.

Linda McRae lead vocal and guitar, Louisa Branscomb harmony vocal and banjo, me on upright bass

“Carve it to the Heart” another of Linda’s songs.

Linda McRae lead vocal and clawhammer style banjo, Louisa Branscomb on guitar, me on nyckelharpa

When we were out on tour with Adam Pope we decided to try out Walmart’s musical instrument collection.    Adam Pope - toy guitar and lead vocal, Dusty Knapp - toy piano, Rodney Powell - toy snare drum, Parker Manuel - toy back-up piano, Justin Bethune - cameraphone man (’cuz they didn’t have an electric guitar& available for him to jam on - they were all tied down in displays), and me - toy “upright bass downbeat” garbage can, as they don’t have toy upright basses for sale at Walmart, for some reason!!

Check out Dusty Knapp’s awesome toy piano solo!  I think he helped Walmart with a sale.  After we played this, some nice Daddy bought that piano for his little girl!!!

Dear friends of mine, Dave Blood, Virginia Lee, Letitia Jolene (of Mixt Company band), ask me to play with their group on occasion and jam!  Love their spirit and beautiful harmonies!  Some day I’d like to know how to sing harmonies like that!

That was some fun on a gig playing bass at Lipscomb University at a Women’s Alumni Reunion dinner (Mayberry Theme).  J.C. Craig - resophonic guitar, Ray Fox - Fiddle, Steve Thomas - Guitar, Scott Gleaves - Banjo , and me -  upright bass.   David Browning as Barney Fife, the loveable deputy from Andy Griffith TV show.  David is probably the best impersonator of Barney, so much so that he had the honor of opening up for Don Knotts.  Also, in his inspirational presentation after his Barney part he talks about the good values The Andy Griffith show instills on the viewer - I love that for that reason, too!!!  It was very cool to be on the same show with him.  Here’s David’s website:  http://www.mayberry.com/maydeputy/browning.htm
